Waverley Borough Council is preparing its plan to guide
where new homes and other forms of development should go. They are required by
the South East Plan to provide for at least 5,000 new homes in Waverley in the period
from 2006 to 2026.
The Council has stated that they would like the help of
the residents in meeting the challenge of deciding where these new homes should
go.

25th September. The Department of Communities and Local Government
today announced that the Secretary of State agrees with the conclusion
of the Planning Inspector and that Dunsfold Park's appeal is dismissed
and planning permission refused.
Dunsfold Park have six weeks to decide whether to challenge this decision by applying to the High Court.
Public Inquiry now completed – decision to be made by Government
Minister by 28 September 2009.
Why is it all happening so fast? Is there a conflict of
interest because of RBS’s involvement with Dunsfold Park? Will our roads soon be
swamped with more cars? Will local democracy be overridden?
Dunsfold Park New Town Planning Appeal Inquiry starts 10am Tuesday 10 March 2009. It is important that members of the public attend, especially on the first day.

4th November 2008 - Dunsfold Park Ltd has today announced its intention to
appeal against Waverley Borough Council’s decision to refuse their masterplan
application for the aerodrome in Dunsfold, nr Guildford, Surrey.
"An ill considered and irresponsible decision" was the verdict of Barry Myers, the SDPNT chairman.
Dunsfold Park’s proposal to build 2,600 houses on the site
of the former aerodrome was refused almost unanimously by Waverley planners.
Three Lib Dem councillors abstained, the remaining councillors at the meeting voted against
the plans. This is a major victory for those of us campaigning against the
proposed New Town.
"Who stands to benefit? The shareholders of Dunsfold Park Ltd? Or the less well off/under employed local people who cannot afford the high prices of housing in the area?
Who stands to lose? Almost all who currently live in the area will be affected by degradation of the environment. The road system is already heavily congested.
